What does Red 633nm mean?

633nm describes the wavelength of visible red light used by Dermalux. Dermalux positions Red 633nm for skin rejuvenation and for supporting smoother-looking texture, firmness, elasticity and a more even-looking tone. It is not a separate machine at our clinic: it is one wavelength within the Dermalux Tri-Wave MD platform.

Red light vs blue light vs near infrared

• Red 633nm: primarily used within skin-rejuvenation protocols.
• Blue 415nm: used by Dermalux in acne-focused protocols.
• Near Infrared 830nm: an invisible wavelength used in Dermalux protocols for different treatment goals, including recovery-related and redness-focused applications.

Different wavelengths are not interchangeable, and the practitioner may use a single wavelength or a combination depending on the protocol.

What happens during a red LED session?

1. Your practitioner checks the skin concern, medical history, medication and any known light sensitivity.
