How long does fat freezing take?
There is no single appointment length that is right for every fat-freezing treatment. The time needed depends on the area being assessed, how many applicators are appropriate, how the applicators fit the tissue and whether more than one area is being treated during the same visit.
3D Lipo London uses the Sculpt Pro Cryo Quattro as our primary fat-freezing system. Sculpt Pro describes the Cryo Quattro as allowing multiple 360° cooling applicators to operate at the same time. That can make a multi-applicator plan more efficient than treating each applicator one after another. We do not publish a fixed session duration on our price list, so your expected appointment length is confirmed when the treatment plan is agreed.
What makes one appointment longer than another?
- Applicator plan: one person may need one applicator while another may need two or more positions to cover the area appropriately.
- Assessment and marking: treatment placement is planned before cooling begins.
- Area shape and tissue: applicators must fit suitable pinchable subcutaneous fat rather than simply being placed wherever a person wants fat removed.
- Multiple areas: the Cryo Quattro can operate multiple applicators simultaneously when appropriate, but the practitioner still decides the safe and suitable plan.
- Post-treatment checks: time is also needed to remove the applicators, inspect the skin and give aftercare information.
Treatment time is different from the results timeline
The cooling appointment itself is only the first stage. The FDA explains that damaged fat-cell material is then gradually cleared by the body's immune system, usually over about two to three months. See our fat-freezing results timeline and aftercare guide.
Appointment time is more than the cooling cycle
The time booked for a fat-freezing appointment can include checking the area, confirming applicator placement, preparing the skin, the treatment cycle itself and post-treatment checks. Treating two areas or using more than one applicator can therefore change the overall appointment length even when the individual cycle time is similar.
The exact plan is confirmed for the area being treated rather than applying one universal appointment length to every client. If you are planning treatment around work or travel, allow enough time for consultation, photographs and preparation as well as the machine time.
Treatment time and result time are different

How much time should I allow for my appointment?
Allow the time confirmed when your applicator plan is booked. We do not publish one universal duration because the number and positioning of applicators varies.
Can more than one applicator be used at the same time?
The Sculpt Pro Cryo Quattro is designed to run multiple 360° applicators simultaneously. Whether that is suitable for you depends on the treatment area and consultation.
Does a longer fat-freezing session mean a better result?
No. The treatment should follow the device protocol and the plan selected for your tissue and area. Extra cooling time should not be treated as a way to chase a better result.

Consultation booking: An in-person consultation requires a £30 booking deposit. The deposit is fully redeemable against treatment and refundable after you attend if you decide not to proceed. Please give at least 72 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. A no-show loses the £30 deposit and rebooking requires a new £30 deposit. Late arrival may shorten the appointment.

Timing: appointment length versus result timing
Treatment time and result time are different. The applicator is used for a defined treatment cycle, while visible change develops gradually over the following weeks as the body responds to the treated fat cells. The exact appointment length also depends on the number of areas or applicators being treated.
